Changes to our services on Monday 19th September
In light of Monday 19 September being confirmed as a Bank Holiday to mark Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral, there will be changes to the services we provide.
Our patients and colleagues will be joining individuals, organisations and businesses across the country in paying our respects to Her Majesty and commemorating Her reign.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our colleagues for their professionalism and dedication during this difficult time. We understand service changes can be frustrating but as a health service we continue to face extreme pressure and all our staff are working tirelessly to offer the best possible care.
In line with our usual Bank Holiday procedures, we will be offering an enhanced provision for our emergency and unscheduled care services to allow us to support patients who urgently need care.
Please view the following information on the service changes for Monday 19 September.
Healthcare services in hospital
In line with national Welsh Government guidance, we will be postponing a number of pre-arranged appointments and operations. The majority of urgent operations and procedures will still go ahead, including cancer treatment.
We will contact you via text message or telephone if your appointment on Monday 19 September needs to be rescheduled.
If you haven’t heard from us and are unsure whether your appointment is still going ahead, please call the telephone number on your appointment letter.
Healthcare services in the community
In line with normal Bank Holiday service provision, GP Practices will close at 6.30pm on Friday 16 September and re-open from 8.30am on Tuesday 20 September.
It is therefore important that you plan ahead and ensure you have all the medicines you may require and order any repeat prescriptions ahead of the weekend.
Over the Bank Holiday weekend if you need to access healthcare advice or urgent out of hours care, NHS 111 Wales is available. You can access healthcare advice and local information on the NHS 111 Wales website, or by dialling 111.
