Cervical Screening Wales (CSW) launches updated ‘Easy Read’ booklet.

 An ‘Easy Read’ booklet about NHS cervical screening (smear) tests in Wales is now available online.

The updated digital version of the booklet is called ‘About your cervical screening (smear) test’ and it can be found on the CSW website, in the information resources section.

The resource, available in English and Welsh, was developed in partnership with service users and Learning Disability Wales (LDW) in 2022.

It takes the reader through the cervical screening (smear) test process, using simple words and pictures.

The layout makes it particularly suitable for people with learning disabilities, those for whom English and Welsh are not their first languages, individuals with a low health literacy level and other under-served groups.
