Cardiff and Vale UHB teams pick up honours at the Moondance Cancer Awards

Staff from Cardiff and Vale UHB have been recognised in the very first Moondance Cancer Awards for their achievements and innovations in cancer services over the last two years.

Five teams picked up awards at the ceremony held last night (June 16) at the Depot, Cardiff which was hosted by BBC presenter Jason Mohammad.

Congratulations go to:

·        Emerging Medical Leader – Hasan Haboubi, Consultant Gastroenterologist

·        Response to COVID – Protective Elective Surgery Team (Surgery Clinical Board)

·        Innovation in the Independent Sector - Transnasal Endoscopy  (Olympus Medical, Cardiff and Vale UHB and Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB)

·        Innovation in Treatment – All Wales Genomics Oncology Group (AWMGS)  

·        Working Together Award – South Wales Lung Cancer Collaboration (Cardiff and Vale UHB and Swansea Bay UHB)

The Moondance Cancer Awards celebrate people across NHS Wales and its partners who have maintained, and innovated, cancer services despite the extraordinary circumstances of the last two years.

They highlight the innovation and partnership working across all NHS Health Boards to improve cancer detection, diagnosis and treatment for patients in Wales.
