Big Energy Saving Network

Citizens Advice Rhondda Cynon Taff is part of the Big Energy Saving Network. We are currently providing FREE energy training sessions to frontline workers, and community groups supporting members of the public across South Wales, to identify the signs of fuel poverty. The aim of the training is to raise awareness of the support that’s available in local communities to ensure that people experiencing fuel poverty can access energy advice and support when they need it.

About our Frontline worker energy training sessions:

  • The training is for all frontline workers and volunteers working in the community, public and voluntary sectors across South Wales

  • Training is delivered online via Microsoft Teams (available on a web browser or a free application)

  • Each training session is delivered by our Regional Energy Lead and takes 1.5 hours

  • Online learning modules, with a follow-up question and answers sessions, are being trialled for completion at an individual’s convenience, if they are unable to attend a group training session

  • The training is available for a short period of time, until 31st March 2022.

The energy training will cover:

  • The effect of fuel poverty on health

  • The energy crisis

  • Accessing welfare benefits and grants

  • Standard licencing conditions for all domestic suppliers

  • Priority Services Register
