Bereaved parents' listening events

On behalf of the Maternity and Neonatal NetworkSands and its charity partners are welcoming bereaved parents and professionals to a series of important listening events in Wales in February and March.

This will be an opportunity for parents who have suffered the loss of a pregnancy or death of a baby in Wales over the past few years to share their experiences of the bereavement care received, in and out of the hospital setting.

The event will be a safe place, with trained befrienders facilitating discussions and being available to support parents. The event will be carefully managed, to ensure sensitivity and confidentiality and no-one will be under any pressure to share specific elements of their bereavement care journey unless they want to.

These experiences will help improve bereavement care by feeding into the next phase of development of the NBCP in Wales, which is currently being scoped in conjunction with the Wales Maternity & Neonatal Network.
