Barry Dock Lifeboat Water Safety Adviser Volunteer

Spreading the message about water Safety

The Volunteer Water Safety Adviser is part of a team of 6 -7 persons contributing towards the delivery of the Barry Dock Lifeboat Water Safety Lifesaving Plans.

This is achieved by going into the community and offering RNLI-prepared water safety advice and working with local partners (groups/clubs) to offer preventative water safety messages and literature to targeted water users.

An example would be to engage with stand-up paddle boarders and open water swimmers in Jackson's Bay, Barry Island.  This role can be performed with a Buddie, or alone if confident to do so.

This can be very rewarding, the people are so appreciative of the advice and the scenery is stunning.
