Barry Beavers Disabled Swimming Club – Localgiving Appeal to help with Gala

Every year Barry Beavers hosts an Astra 15 Regional Gala in March. This year, we will host the first Astra 15 Regional Gala since 2019 (due to closure from Covid-19 restrictions) so we are really excited to get things up and running again.

The regional Galas give an opportunity for all the disabled swimming clubs in the Astra 15 Region of South East Wales to come together to enjoy competition and to receive recognition for their achievements in contributing to their own club’s overall score.

The clubs love to win the overall cup for each gala and the swimmers, volunteers and supporters all enjoy each gala tremendously; socialising with old friends and sharing valued time with each other.

Around 200 people attend each gala in turn at their own venues around South East Wales and therefore the cost is expensive for each club; to hire the pools and main sports halls for the presentations and for the buffet that is provided. In addition to these costs, there are additional things that need to be purchased such as cups, medals and catering.
