Apprenticeship Awards Cymru 2024

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board have officially been listed as finalists for ‘Macro Employer of the Year’.

The Apprenticeship Awards Cymru looks at the rewards for individuals, learning providers, and employers who have exceeded expectations in their contributions to the development of the Welsh Government’s Employability and the Apprenticeship Programmes, Wales-wide.

At the time of submitting our nomination in the summer, we have successfully enrolled 864 existing members of staff onto various apprenticeships since May 2018. In addition to this we have successfully recruited 45 apprentices since January 2019.

Emma Bendle, Apprenticeship Lead from the People Resourcing Team, “We are absolutely thrilled to have reached the finalist stage for the ‘Apprenticeship Awards Cymru’ in the category ‘Macro Employer of the Year’. This is a huge achievement and recognises the great work that has taken place in the Health Board in recent years, to support the local community with high quality apprenticeship opportunities and upskill our staff in a wide range of subject areas.”
