“ Woss Occurin' ” Charity Walk for Ty Hapus

Join a fun-filled charity walk from Cardiff Bay to Barry Island where you will be welcomed by Gavin & Stacey icon Ruth Jones!
An easy to moderate charity walk in aid of Ty Hapus, which offers respite and support to people living with dementia and their families, with a particular focus on those diagnosed with young-onset dementia.
All ages of walkers welcome and you'll be greeted at journey's end by Friend of Ty Hapus and Welsh legend Ruth Jones - aka Gavin & Stacey's Nessa!
Here's the itinerary:
9.00am Board The Princess Katherine boat at The Jetty in Bute Park (near Cardiff Castle) and enjoy refreshments on board.
9.30am Disembark at Cardiff Bay to begin walk to Barry Island. The route will take you through Penarth promenade; along the beautiful Welsh coastline to our halfway pit-stop at The Captain's Wife pub. Our bun ladies will be on hand to provide snacks and water. There will also be stewards guiding the way and ensuring your safety.
On arrival at Barry Island you'll congregate at Marco's Cafe, where Ruth Jones and families of those affected by dementia will lead you along the esplanade to Ty Hapus. And here Ruth and opera star Rebecca Evans will cut the ribbon to open Ty Hapus's new base. Join the charity to celebrate with fizz and cake. (Ty Hapus is a 2 min walk to Barry Island train station with regular services back to Cardiff)
Registration is £10 and you will receive a t-shirt and refreshments on the day. We ask that you raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship to take part. ALL money raised goes to Ty Hapus.
